1. Membership & Eligibility (The "Velvet Rope")
Urban Connection is an invite-only professional network. By applying, you acknowledge that:
- Admission is Discretionary: Submission of an application or nomination does not guarantee admission. Access is granted solely at the discretion of our Membership Committee based on professional verification.
- Verification is Mandatory: You agree to provide accurate, up-to-date documentation (government ID, professional credentials) for verification. Falsifying documents will result in an immediate, permanent ban.
- Top 1% Standard: We reserve the right to revoke membership if a user no longer meets the professional standing or ethical standards of the community.
2. Code of Conduct (The "No Noise" Policy)
To maintain a high-signal environment, you agree to abide by our strict posting and interaction standards:
- Structured Content Only: Posts must adhere to our "Value Card" formats (Insight, Resource, Opportunity). Rants, political debates, or low-value "engagement bait" are strictly prohibited and may be removed.
- Respectful Interaction: Harassment, spamming generic sales pitches in DMs, or mass-adding connections is forbidden.
- Outcome-Driven: Interactions should focus on professional growth, collaboration, and genuine networking.
3. Subscriptions & Billing
- Billing Cycle: "Pro" and "Elite" memberships are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis via our payment processor (Stripe).
- Auto-Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the billing period ends.
- Refund Policy:
Monthly Plans: Non-refundable.
Annual Plans: We offer a pro-rated refund if cancelled within the first 30 days of the subscription start date.
Concierge Credits: Any unused Concierge Credits are non-refundable upon cancellation.
4. Concierge & Introduction Services
- "Best Effort" Service: Our Concierge team facilitates introductions and bookings on a "best-effort" basis. We cannot guarantee that a specific individual will accept your introduction request.
- Double Opt-In: You understand that you cannot message a user directly until they have accepted your "Introduction Request."
- Credit Usage: "Intro Credits" and "Concierge Credits" are deducted when a request is made, not when it is accepted. Unused credits may reset quarterly depending on your plan.
5. The "1% Score" & Reputation
- Dynamic Scoring: Your "Reputation Score" is calculated algorithmically based on verified achievements, peer endorsements, and engagement quality.
- Score Adjustments: Urban Connection reserves the right to manually adjust or reset scores in cases of suspected gaming, fraud, or referral abuse (e.g., inviting fake profiles).
6. Events & Liability
- Ticket Sales: Tickets for "Elite" or "VIP" events are sold on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Conduct at Events: We enforce a zero-tolerance policy for unprofessional behavior at offline events. Violations may result in platform expulsion.
- Liability: Urban Connection is a facilitator. We are not liable for business deals, investments, or employment contracts agreed upon between members, whether online or at our events.
7. User-Generated Content
- Ownership: You retain ownership of the insights and resources you post.
- License: By posting, you grant Urban Connection a non-exclusive license to display, distribute, and promote your content within the platform (e.g., in the "Daily Digest") to other members.
8. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice or liability, if you breach these Terms, specifically for:
- Sharing your account credentials.
- Scraping member data.
- Repeatedly sending unsolicited sales spam.
